The AT8015 is a line gradient condenser shotgun microphone with ideal sound rejection from the sides and rear, used to capture audio over long distances. It can be battery- or phantom-powered. It is used for video, TV, and news production at distances and in noisy environments. Featuring a roll-off position switch that reduces the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise (like traffic, room reverberation, and mechanically coupled vibrations), it is supplied with a stand clamp, a 5/8" to 3/8" adapter, a windscreen, an AA battery, and a protective carrying case.
