The Sony 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 SAM DT II Lens succeeds the popular DT 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 SAM lens (released in 2011) and features newly designed rear lens elements which suppresses flare and ghost, while the upgraded mechanical elements ensure a more positive and comfortable operation. This light, compact 3x zoom lens covers a frequently-used range of focal lengths from wide-angle 18mm for landscapes to standard 55mm for portraits. The SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) provides the user with smooth and accurate focusing (no direct manual focus override). This Sony DT (Digital Technology) lens produces an image circle large enough to cover an APS-C (cropped) size sensor.
